That mass of water above the Dundee Dam on the Passaic is currently labeled as Dundee Lake. In the colonial era, before the formation of the USA, it was known as Dundee Zee. 


The name is symbolic of the Scottish and Dutch roots of this urbanism. It is one of those loci that has a gravitational pull as major local, regional, and Continental arteries are drawn toward it.
